Embedded Software Intern

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. has an opening for an intern within the Embedded Software department for 8 weeks during the summer of 2025. This position will report to the Manager to Engineering and be responsible for some entry level assignments that will provide exposure to the software engineering job family. This position is on-site 5 days per week and located in the Clarksburg, MD office.
Please Note: The incumbent must be prepared to start in Clarksburg, MD in Summer 2025
- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
Responsibilities
Intern will be responsible for completing the following assignments successfully
- Develop unit level and system level test scripts.
- Execute test scripts to identify and document defects.
- Support verification and validation of existing hardware and software against system requirements.

Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet requirements to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university of college and have completed at least 2 semesters within the engineering field of study.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be proficient in English both verbal and written.
- Intern must be able to comply with Thales policies, procedures and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux operating system is desired but not required.
- Python experience is desired but not required.
The hourly pay range for this role is $22.00 - $25.00 USD. The hour pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.
